Turkey vs Wales Preview & Tips - Wales and Turkey tipped to draw in crucial encounter

Wales got their Euro's underway with a draw against Switzerland. After Turkey's heavy defeat to Italy, they have some ground to make up. But with both sides in average form I am tipping this to end level.

Wales have a 3-2 advantage against Turkey in six meetings with one draw.

Turkey’s impressive six-match unbeaten run came to an end in their Euro 2020 opener against Italy. Turkey struggled to compete for large spells during the 3-0 defeat.

Senol Gunes’ side were on the back foot from the outset, having just three shots and 36% possession. Some last-ditch defending kept the scores level at halftime. Merih Demiral then scored an own goal early in the second half before the Azzuri added two more late goals. 

The Crescent-Stars will take confidence from their positive run of results before the loss to a strong Italy side. 

Turkey recorded big wins against the Netherlands (4-2) and Norway (3-0) in March and scored 14 goals in six matches before the Euros.

Wales managed to avoid defeat in their first Euro 2020 match as they held Switzerland to a 1-1 draw.

Robert Page’s side held a structured formation in their own half for the majority of the match and rarely ventured beyond the halfway line with 35% possession. Wales invited pressure in the first half and eventually conceded minutes into the second period before Kieffer Moore levelled the scores with 15 minutes remaining.

Goalkeeper Danny Ward produced several top-quality saves to salvage a point for his side. Despite defending for most of the match, Wales looked dangerous on the counter with Daniel James and Gareth Bale attacking with pace.

The Dragons have been hard to beat in recent matches. 1-0 wins against Mexico and the Czech Republic came before a three-match winless streak, including a 3-0 loss to world champions France and a disappointing 0-0 draw against Albania.
