Guyana Amazon Warriors vs St Kitts and Nevis Patriots Predictions

The Warriors are in title-winning form and are looking unbeatable. The Patriots have two matches left and have to win at least one to have an outside chance of making the playoffs, providing the two teams above them lose their remaining matches. Two wins gives them a fighting chance to make the playoffs so they will throw everything at the Warriors.

Head-to-Head

The Guyana Amazon Warriors have won four and lost one of their last five matches in the Caribbean Premier League against the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots.

Guyana Amazon Warriors Form

The Warriors plucked off the Kingsmen’s target for the loss of just two wickets to keep their unbeaten run this season intact.

Khary Pierre (2/21) and Dwaine Pretorius (2/20) were on form with the ball to restrict the Kingsmen to just 159/7.

Rahmanullah Gurbaz (54 off 35) and Mavendra Dindyal (33 off 17, with four sixes) got the innings off to a flying start to take the Warriors to a score of 114/2 off 12.2 overs. The in-form duo of Shai Hope (39* off 35) and Shimron Hetmyer (30* off 17) saw their side home with 16 balls to spare.

St Kitts and Nevis Patriots Form

The Patriots kept their playoff hopes alive with a 137-run win over the St Lucia Kings to secure back-to-back victories.

The Patriots top order was on fire, racking up a score of 235/4 off their 20 overs. Andre Fletcher scored 64 off 38 balls, but the star of the innings was Dasun Shanaka, who smashed 12 sixes and eight fours in a 43-ball score of 121.

The Kings batters offered little resistance, with just one batter scoring more than 11 runs as they were rolled for 98 off 13.5 overs. Ashmead Nedd (2/24) took care of both openers and Wanindu Hasaranga picked up 2/25, while Jeremiah Louis ran through the lower order, picking up 5/10 off 2.5 overs.

Team news

The Patriots have won their last two matches and will want to keep that winning formula in place in a must-win match for their playoff hopes.

Guyana Amazon Warriors (possible XI): Glenn Phillips, Matthew Nandu, Shai Hope, Shimron Hetmyer, Mohammad Nabi, Quentin Sampson, Romario Shepherd, Shamar Joseph, Dwaine Pretorius, Khary Pierre, Imran Tahir (c).

St Kitts and Nevis Patriots (possible XI): Alick Athanaze, Kyle Mayers, Dasun Shanaka, Jason Holder (c), Navin Bidaisee, Wanidu Hasaranga, Andre Fletcher, Johnson Charles, Jeremiah Louis, Ashmead Nedd, Naseem Shah.

Verdict

Guyana Amazon Warriors v St Kitts and Nevis Patriots

The Guyana Amazon Warriors are favourites to take the win, with their in-form batter Shimron Hetmyer backed to be in the runs again. Shamar Joseph, Dasun Shanaka and Jeremiah Louis are my picks to snap up wickets or bank good runs.
