Athletic Bilbao vs Getafe

Athletic Bilbao begin this home assignment on nine points from eight league matches after suffering a midweek setback against Levante. Getafe have also struggled for consistency and their attacking return of five goals in nine games is the lowest in the division.

The visitors' defensive organisation will test Athletic's patience although home support at San Mames could eventually make the difference. Athletic have scored only eight league goals themselves so an early breakthrough would be particularly valuable.

The hosts are clear favourites but their win price is short. Over 2.5 match goals at 2.25 is the more adventurous selection if the hosts can build momentum.

Celta Vigo vs Real Betis

Celta welcome fourth-placed Real Betis looking to convert a series of draws into victories. Celta have drawn five of their first nine games while conceding only seven goals, making them difficult opponents even when their attack misfires. Betis have claimed six wins and boast considerably stronger momentum, though they have also conceded 14 goals.

The visitors may find opportunities if Celta's back four are drawn out of position while the hosts will look to make Balaidos an uncomfortable venue for the Andalusians. With the prices relatively even the visitors' superior winning record makes a Betis success at 2.40 the preferred selection.

Real Sociedad vs Levante

Real Sociedad take on Levante with five wins from nine matches putting them in fifth place in La Liga despite an unusually high number of goals conceded. Levante have scooped up 10 points and will be encouraged by their impressive 3-1 midweek win over Athletic Bilbao.

Sociedad have the advantage of the Reale Arena and possess enough attacking quality to create chances, but Levante's confidence should not be underestimated. The home side are reasonably strong favourites but the payout isn't very attractive so a lower-scoring match looks a more appealing risk-reward angle.

Barcelona vs Real Madrid

El Clasico arrives with Barcelona enjoying a perfect nine-win La Liga run along with an extraordinary 39 goals at an average peaking over four strikes per match. Real Madrid are third with seven wins but already trail their rivals by six points.

Barcelona's creative combination of Lamine Yamal and Raphinha has caused problems for opponents but Madrid have the counterattacking firepower to punish any space left by their hosts in the last quarter of the pitch. Kylian Mbappé will be central to that threat.

The away win is tempting at 4.10 but the bigger storyline is the potential for a goal-filled classic.
