German Bundesliga Predictions - Saturday-Sunday, 24-25 October 2026, Round 7

Last updated: 32 minutes ago

This article previews four key Bundesliga fixtures, offering analysis and predictions for Augsburg vs Union Berlin, Paderborn vs Hamburger SV, Hoffenheim vs Bayer Leverkusen, and Freiburg vs Bayern Munich. Augsburg's attack is expected to trouble Union; Paderborn is tipped to edge Hamburg; Leverkusen's consistency is favored against Hoffenheim; and Freiburg is backed for a bold win or draw against leaders Bayern Munich. The main conclusion is to back goals in Augsburg, Paderborn and Leverkusen to win, and Freiburg for a win or draw double.

Augsburg vs Union Berlin

Augsburg host struggling Union Berlin on Saturday in a game that could have a direct impact on the relegation picture. Augsburg have scored 16 times in six Bundesliga outings but have shipped 12 goals which has made their matches some of the division's most unpredictable this season.

Union have just five points and already conceded 17 times, a defensive record that leaves them vulnerable against confident attacking sides. Home advantage gives Augsburg the edge but the payout isn’t great. Over 3.5 match goals at 2.20 is a tempting alternative if Augsburg attack aggressively and Union find space to counter. An entertaining contest looks on the cards.

Paderborn vs Hamburger SV

Paderborn and Hamburger SV meet in a contest between two sides still adapting to life in the Bundesliga. Paderborn have claimed five points from six matches, while Hamburg sit four points higher after three victories. The visitors have scored only six league goals and conceded 15 which highlights defensive frailties.

Paderborn's own goal output has been modest but their goal difference is just minus-5 after six matches, so they are a tougher nut to crack. The home side should feel capable of exploiting Hamburg's weaknesses in possession and when defending transitions. This should be tight but with home ground advantage I’m drifting to the Paderborn side.

Hoffenheim vs Bayer Leverkusen

Hoffenheim host Bayer Leverkusen on Sunday knowing their first six league matches have seen them soak up four defeats. The home side have conceded 14 goals and will need better defensive concentration against a visiting team already in the top four.

Leverkusen have snapped up 13 points and scored 16 goals in their six matches but have let in nine goals which suggests opportunities for Hoffenheim to make a grab for the three points.

The hosts are capable of playing free-flowing football which could put pressure on Bayer Leverkusen, particularly with the backing of their home crowd. Leverkusen's greater consistency and four wins from six makes them the obvious choice to back and there’s still a decent payout on offer despite their far superior form. They have also won their last three away matches on the bounce with a 10-3 goal spread.

Freiburg vs Bayern Munich

Freiburg welcome unbeaten leaders Bayern Munich for a heavyweight showdown  that highlights Sunday's action. Bayern and Borussia Dortmund both have 14 points after six rounds but Freiburg are only one point behind and have already scored 15 goals in the league this season.

Bayern's attack has carved up 22 goals while their defence has conceded just five times, and these numbers justify their very short win price. Harry Kane will be one of the central threats, yet Freiburg's strong home support and confident early-season form make them more dangerous than their outsider odds suggest.

The home-or-draw double chance at 2.87 is a bold value selection, albeit against one of Europe's strongest sides.

Verdict

I’m backing goals between Augsburg and Union Berlin, wins for Paderborn and Bayer Leverkusen and a bold Freiburg win or draw double.
