After being put in to bat, the Falcons suffered an immediate setback when opener Rahkeem Cornwall was bowled for a golden duck.  Steadying partnerships from Amir Jangoo (26) and Karima Gore (27) stabilised the innings, though the scoring remained slow.

The momentum shifted with captain Moeen Ali smashing an unbeaten 56 off 37 balls that included a destructive final over where he hit three consecutive sixes to propel the Falcons to a competitive total of 155/5.

The Tridents' innings unraveled early, sitting at a shaky 45/2 by the end of the powerplay under tight spells from Alzarri Joseph (2/12).

Joshua James triggered a middle order collapse, picking up 3/18 from his 3 overs, with the Tridents losing seven wickets for just 32 runs. Spinner Sufyan Moqim (2/36) wrapped up the tail in the 18th over, leaving the Tridents bowled out for 125.
