Head-to-Head

Barbados Tridents have won one and lost three of their last five matches in the Caribbean Premier League against the St Lucia Kings, with one match rained-out.

St Lucia Kings Form

Saint Lucia Kings are currently top of the CPL 2026 points table with two wins and one defeat, and they come into this fixture after a tense three-wicket DLS victory over Antigua and Barbuda Falcons. Andries Gous has been their leading run-scorer this season with 93 runs, while Matthew Forde has led the bowling attack superbly with six wickets.

Their previous match was reduced to 19 overs per side because of rain and Saint Lucia made excellent use of the conditions with the ball. The Falcons struggled badly after batting first, posting only 98/9.

Evin Lewis and Tim Robinson fell cheaply, while Rahkeem Cornwall struck a few attractive boundaries before also being dismissed after making a start. The Falcons’ middle order found it difficult to build momentum as boundaries dried up. Forde was the standout performer, taking 4/29, while Joshua Bishop added two important wickets to help restrict the Falcons to a below-par total.

However, Saint Lucia’s chase was far from comfortable. They collapsed to 21/6 inside five overs and appeared to be in serious trouble. Bishop then played a crucial lower-order role, scoring 12 valuable runs to help the Kings edge home with three wickets in hand.

Barbados Tridents Form

Barbados Tridents are fourth on the CPL 2026 points table with one win and they enter this match after a thrilling five-run victory over Jamaica Kingsmen. Brandon King has been their leading run-scorer with 73 runs, while Daniel Sams has made an immediate impact with the ball, taking four wickets.

In their previous outing, Barbados produced an excellent batting display after being sent in, posting 206/3 from their 20 overs. King anchored the innings impressively with 73 from 51 balls, giving the Tridents a strong platform.

Quinton de Kock also played fluently for his 42, while Sherfane Rutherford added real power with a fine 50. Their combined efforts helped Barbados reach a commanding total.

Jamaica’s chase began disastrously as they slipped to 8/3 in the second over. Rovman Powell and Andre Russell then tried to rebuild and launch a fightback, with Russell smashing 68 from 38 balls and Powell adding 38.

Both batters were dismissed at crucial moments. Vitel Lawes struck some clean blows late in the innings, but the Kingsmen could not complete the chase and eventually fell five runs short. Barbados will take confidence from both their powerful batting display and their ability to hold their nerve under pressure.
