  • Mumbai need to get off to a strong start this season to give their inexperienced players belief in their chances.
  • They finished third last season, despite some patchy early-season form.
  • The IPL starts on 22 March, with the final scheduled for 26 May 2024.

Season preview

After an excellent season in 2023, much is expected in 2024… and while they have some high-quality players, they are also brimming with promising young (and older) players who are short on international experience. There is quality there, but if they don’t get off to a good start and build confidence to play to their full potential, they might find this a long, frustrating season.

New players

Romario Shepherd, Mohammad Nabi, Shreyas Gopal, Gerald Coetzee, Kwena Maphaka, Nuwan Thushara, Shivalik Sharma, Anshul Kamboj and Naman Dhir.

Key players

A lot will rest on the shoulders of Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik Pandya, but much is expected (fingers-crossed) from the talented quintet of Dewald Brevis, Mohammad Nabi, Ishan Kishan, Tilak Varma and Tim David.
