The 20-year-old South African batting sensation Lhuan-dre Pretorius is 71 runs ahead of the second-top run-scorer in the 2026 MLC after scoring heavily throughout the campaign. Pretorius kicked off his season with scores of 58 and 69*, adding 87 and 66 in his fourth and fifth innings. A magnificent 52-ball 102* against MI New York has kept him way on top of the runs list.
Struggling to keep the runs flowing
Second-placed Mitchell Owen (344 runs, ave 49.14) started in incredible form, with his 155 against MI New York putting him on top of the runs list early on, but he has three single figures scores in his last five knocks.
Tim Seifert (282 runs, ave 35.25) started his season with scores of 104 and 78 but has gone off the boil ever since, scoring two 30s and four scores of 10 or under in his last six innings. Nicholas Pooran (226 runs, ave 37.66) scored 68* and 78* in his first four knocks but hasn’t scored over 20 in his last four innings.
Mister Consistency
South African-born Colin Munro (227 runs, ave 56.75) has been scoring consistently and is worth backing to stay in the runs as we head to the playoffs, although the Knight Riders opener is in danger of missing out on the playoffs as his side has had a horror run of defeats. Munro has scored runs in all six of his innings in the MLC this season, starting with 64* against the San Francisco Unicorns before posting scores of 30, 20, 33, 25 and 55*.
