Washington Freedom vs San Francisco Unicorns Predictions

The clash of the two top teams in the League makes it the perfect match-up for the final. The Unicorns have been somewhat inconsistent with the bat despite losing just once in the League. The Freedom have been superbly consistent with the bat and have a powerful bowling attack.

Washington Freedom’s Travis Head has scored 54, 54, 53, 56 & 77* in his last 5 innings.
Washington Freedom’s Glenn Maxwell hit five sixes in his 54* off 23 balls against the Unicorns.
San Francisco Unicorns’ Fin Allen smashed 101 off 53 balls in the Challenger against the Super Kings.
San Francisco Unicorns’ Sanjay Krishnamurthi hit six sixes in his 79* off 42 balls in the League win over the Freedom.

Head-to-Head

The two sides have met twice this season, each side picking up one win. Last season the Freedom beat the Unicorns by 30 runs in their League clash.

Washington Freedom Form

The Freedom bounced back from the only loss of their League campaign to the Unicorns by beating them by seven wickets three days later in the Qualifier.

Marco Jansen (3/46) and Rachin Ravindra (4/11) ran through the Unicorns’ top order as they were bowled out for 145 off 19 overs.

The Freedom powered their way to the win off 15.3 overs, Hassan Khan (2/32) and Pat Cummins (1/19) picking up the only wickets to fall.

Washington Freedom Team News

Washington Freedom are in superb form and are unlikely to make any changes to their team.

San Francisco Unicorns Form

After losing to the Freedom in the Qualifier, the Unicorns bounced back with a powerful batting display to beat the Super Kings by 10 runs in the Challenger.

Finn Allen brought out his best performance of the season with a crushing innings of 101 off 53 balls, with five sixes, as the Unicorns racked up 200/6 off their 20 overs, the third-highest score of the season.

The Super Kings put up a good chase, but the Unicorns managed to hold them off to secure a 10-run win. Juanoy Drysdale (2/33, econ 8.25) was the most economical of the Unicorns’ bowlers.

San Francisco Unicorns Team News

The Unicorns need their top-order to all come to the party in the final if they hope to challenge the powerful Freedom bowling attack.

Verdict

Washington Freedom v San Francisco Unicorns

I am backing Washington Freedom to win. I am also backing Travis Head to top score for Washington Freedom.

Fin Allen is a good bet to top score for the San Francisco Unicorns.
