One-Day Cup Predictions - 11 August 2026


Hampshire vs Derbyshire


Hampshire have to win for a sniff at a playoff spot, but with three wins in four they have the form to beat a Derbyshire side that has lost their last two matches.

Eddie Jack is proving a terror with the ball, taking 2/31 and 4/57 in his last two matches for Hampshire, but it’s their batting that should be key to their success. Ali Orr (105) and Ben Mayes (109) put on 225 for the first wicket in their win over Sussex in their last match. Toby Albert looks the batter to back, though, with scores of 89, 46 and 86 in his last three innings.

Warwickshire vs Kent


Warwickshire are out of the playoffs but Kent are one of four sides on 16 points battling for the two remaining playoff places. Matt Parkinson should weigh in with wickets again after picking up 2/62, 1/38 and 2/27 in his last three matches. 

The Kent top order are full of runs, headed by Daniel Bell-Drummond, who has plundered opposition attacks for scores of 56, 100, 44, 27 and 133* in his last five knocks. 

Surrey vs Notts


This is a huge match, with both sides needing a win to secure a playoff spot, although defeat won’t  necessarily end their journey. Dom Sibley has been Surrey’s best batter, with scores of 33, 74, 101 and 53 in his last five innings.  

Benji Floros is the bowler in form, taking 2/60, 4/60 and 2/71 in his last five matches, while James Taylor has also weighed in with strong contributions, picking up 2/62 and 3/41 in three matches. 

Gloucester vs Northants


Northants have the slimmest chance of hitting the playoffs, and in their favour is the fact that their opponents have lost five of their seven matches.  

Northants spinner Rob Keogh could be a factor after taking 2/73 and 4/35 in his last four matches, but Yuzvendra Chahal is the big dangerman. The Indian whiteball leg-spinner has taken 4/60, 2/56 and 3/35 in his last three matches and will be key for Northants picking up a big win.

Verdict

Toby Albert and Daniel Bell-Drummond to keep the runs flowing while Benji Floros and Yuzvendra Chahal to weave a spell around opposition batters.
