Michael van Lingen and Kruger are expected to open, with Kruger coming off a 64 against the Netherlands. Frylinck has been Namibia’s standout batter, scoring 244 runs in his last four games, including a century and two fifties, while Louren Steenkamp has amassed 330 runs in seven innings at an average of 47.
Brassell leads the bowling attack with 14 wickets in eight matches this year, while Trumpelmann has taken 10 wickets in six innings.
South Africa Form
South Africa will be without eight regular first-team players, with Bjorn Fortuin captaining a youthful squad. Dewald Brevis, Tony de Zorzi and Kwena Maphaka provide much of the international experience.
Opening batter Lhuan-dre Pretorius starred in the Tr-Series and has scored 142 runs in his last three ODIs, while he and Brevis shared top-scoring honours in the recent T20I series with 226 runs apiece. Pretorius has been ruled out of the ODI series through injury after the Tri-Series final win.
Duan Jansen will spearhead the bowling alongside Fortuin, Maphaka, Prenelan Subrayen and Lutho Sipamla. Jansen claimed 11 wickets in the T20I series and was the leading wicket-taker in the 2025/26 Provincial One-Day Challenge Division One with 16. Subrayen also impressed with seven wickets in the T20Is.

South Africa are massive favourites to win but the odds on offer aren’t worth the squeeze. Jan Frylinck has been in superb form with the bat for Namibia and with half-centuries in his last two knocks against the Proteas is worth backing to score runs.
