Sri Lanka enters the match as favorites, with strong backing for Pathum Nissanka, Dushmantha Chameera, and Kusal Mendis to shine. Nissanka is tipped as the best batter, Chameera as the best bowler, and Mendis is expected to score over 23.5 runs. West Indies vs Sri Lanka Predictions

Sri Lanka are in great form and with the knowledge that the West Indies can only level the series it should give the visitors the confidence to play with even greater freedom to overpower the West Indies attack.

  • West Indies’ Shai Hope has scored 497 runs in his last 10 innings (ave 71.00).
  • West Indies’ Roston Chase has scores of 40, 84, 24 and 33 in his last 6 innings.
  • West Indies’ Jayden Seales has take 21 wickets in his last 8 matches.
  • The West Indies have lost their last five completed ODIs in a row.
  • Sri Lanka’s Pathum Nissanka has scores of 62, 19, 50 & 79 in his last 4 knocks.
  • Sri Lanka’s Kusal Mendis has scored 80*, 41 and 72 in his last 5 innings.
  • Sri Lanka’s Dushmantha Chameera has figures of 3/38, 1/48 and 4/67 in his last 4 matches.

Head-to-Head

Sri Lanka have won four and lost one of their last five completed ODIs against the West Indies. Sri Lanka won the 1st ODI of the current series by 41 runs, with the 2nd ODI washed out without a ball being bowled.

West Indies Form

The West Indies have some dynamic players in their squad but they have been struggling to gel as a unit and produce match-winning form. Playing at home and with the chance to draw the series makes them a dangerous opponent, so backing them for the win would pay handsomely as the odds aren’t in their favour, but it is a high-risk option.

Shai has been in great run-scoring form, posting scores of 75, 32 & 56 in his last five innings. Roston Chase has done well with bat and ball in recent matches. In his last five matches he has taken 11 wickets (econ 4.63) and scored 40, 84, 24 and 33.

Jayden Seales has taken 3/33, 7/34, 2/62, 4/56, 3/39 and 2/67 in his last seven innings in all formats, while Matthew Forde has figures of 3/19, 2/27 and 2/44 in his last five matches.

Sri Lanka Form

Sri Lanka have been in good form recently but do have a tendency to collapse when least expected, which is why backing the West Indies as they push to square the series has merits, although the sensible bet is to stick with the in-form Sri Lankans.

Pathum Nissanka has enjoyed a superb last 12 months with the bat and is scoring freely all around the park. Kusal Mendis is also posting some good scores, including a powerful innings of 72 off 62 balls in the 1st ODI, including  4 sixes.

Dushmantha Chameera picked up 4/67 against the West Indies in the 1st ODI. Maheesh Theekshana has also been among the wickets, snapping up six wickets in his last four matches.
