Rangpur Riders vs Khulna Tigers Predictions

Rangpur are the favourites after a brilliant start to their campaign that saw them win their first eight matches on the bounce. They lost their next four, which will give the Tigers some hope, but I think their quality will shine through to keep them in the playoffs.

Rangpur Riders’ Soumya Sarkar has scored 43, 23 & 74 in his last 5 innings.
Rangpur Riders’ Iftikhar Ahmed scored 65* off 47 balls against the Chittagong Kings.
Khulna Tigers’ Mohammad Naim has scored 77, 20, 51 & 111* in his last 5 innings.
Khulna Tigers’ Mehidy Hasan Miraz has scored 33, 70, 29, 21 & 74* in his last 5 innings.

Head-to-Head

The Tigers have won three of the last five matches against the Riders. However, the Riders have two wins from their last three matches against the Tigers.

Rangpur Riders Form

After starting their BPL season with eight wins on the trot, the Riders ended their League campaign with four straight losses. Their final League match saw them lose to the Tigers by 46 runs.

The Tigers’ batters made the Riders bowlers sweat as they racked up 220/4 off their 20 overs. Akif Javed (1/31, econ 7.75) was the only Riders bowler to go for under 9.5 runs to the over.

Soumya Sarkar (74 off 48) was the only Riders batter to make it out of the 20s as they scraped their way to 174/9 off their 20 overs.

Rangpur Riders Team News

The Riders have lost their last four games, but they have quality in their squad, and my bet is that they have been looking to peak in time for the playoffs, starting with the Eliminator.

Khulna Tigers Form

The Tigers sneaked into the playoffs after a fine run of three wins in their last four matches.

They ended their season with a six-wicket win over Dhaka Capital. William Bosisto (2/10, econ 2.50) and Hasan Mahmud (2/5, econ 1.25) bowled superbly to restrict Dhaka to 123/9 off their 20 overs.

Mehidy Hasan Miraz (74* off 55) powered his side to the six-wicket win with 19 balls in hand.

Khulna Tigers Team News

The Tigers are in great form, but do they have the quality to beat the Riders? I’m backing the Riders to overpower the Tigers, despite recent form.

Verdict

Rangpur Riders v Khulna Tigers

I am backing Rangpur Riders to win. I am also backing Soumya Sarkar to top score for Rangpur Riders.

Mohammad Naim is a good bet to top score for the Khulna Tigers.
