Group stages dominated by Pretoria Capitals
After finishing in last place in the first two seasons of the SA20, MI Cape Town had a complete reversal of fortune, topping the points table by seven points more than second-placed Paarl Royals. They won just three games in each of their first two seasons, but in season three they were a dominant force in the series, winning seven of their 10 games ahead of the playoffs.

MI Cape Town end the Sunrisers’ dreams of a three-peat
MI Cape Town posted a competitive 181/8 in the final off their 20 overs, Connor Esterhuizen top-scoring with 39 off 26 balls as five of the MICT top-order reached 20. Richard Gleeson (2/22) was the best of the Sunrisers’ bowlers.
The Sunrisers’ dreams of a three-peat were dashed after being reduced to 74/5 in the 12th over. They were bowled out for 105 off 18.4 overs, with Kagiso Rabada reducing the sensational figures of 4/25, while Tom Abell top-scored with 30 off 25 balls.
