England are clear favourites to progress to the final with Jos Buttler in magnificent form. He has thus far scored the second most runs in the tournament, including a century. My best bet is for Buttler to surpass the 24.5 run mark in this match.

England have won three of their last five T20I matches against New Zealand. When they last met in 2019, England won in a Super Over after the match ended in a tie after 20 overs each.

England Form

England have been superb throughout this T20 Cricket World Cup. They got off to a flying start and never really looked back, until the final match.

They won their opening four but came unstuck against South Africa in the final group match. The Proteas batted first on a very good wicket and scored 189 runs in their 20 overs.

Jos Buttler got off to his normal flamboyant start, scoring 26 off 15 balls. Moeen Ali top scored with 37 runs while Dawid Malan hit 33 later on.

It wasn’t enough as South Africa restricted England to 179, a defeat by 10 runs. The English had however already done more than enough to qualify top of their group.

England Team News

Jason Roy has been ruled out of the tournament after picking up an injury against South Africa. There are a number of options who can now partner Jos Buttler at the top of the order but it looks like Liam Livingstone may get the nod.

New Zealand Form

New Zealand recovered superbly to win four of their five matches after losing to Pakistan. They finished second in the group ahead of India.

The Black Caps faced a tricky encounter against Afghanistan in their final match as they had to win to qualify. The bowlers did the business in Abu Dhabi, restricting Afghanistan to 124 in 20 overs. Trent Boult was the catalyst with figures of 3-17.

Martin Guptill continued his good form with 28 runs but Kane Williamson (40) and Devon Conway (36) took the Black Caps home to win by eight wickets.

New Zealand have hardly made any changes to their side throughout. Barring injury that shouldn’t change for this match.
