India vs Sri Lanka Women Predictions

India’s loss to Sri Lanka in the Women’s Asia Cup final was a bitter blow, and was followed by a loss to New Zealand in their opening match in the World Cup. Their big win over Pakistan in their second match looks to have settled them and they should be able to beat Sri Lanka with ease, although they do need their batters to really step up to the plate.

India Women’s Jemimah Rodrigues has scored 23-plus in 6 of her last 10 innings.
India Women’s Shafali Verma top-scored with 32 off 35 balls in the win over the West Indies.
Sri Lanka Women’s Nilakshika Silva has scored 22-plus in each of her last 4 innings.
Sri Lanka Women’s Harshitha Samarawickrama has scored 29 & 23 in her last 4 innings.

Head-to-Head

India have won three of their last four WT20Is against Sri Lanka, although they lost their last match against Sri Lanka, which was the final of the Women’s Asia Cup.

India Women Form

India beat Pakistan in their second match to keep them in the semi-final hunt with one win and one loss.

India bowled superbly to limit Pakistan to 105/8 off their 20 overs, with Arundhati Reddy (3/19, econ) the pick of the bowling.

Shafali Verma got the India innings off to a solid start with 32 off 35 balls as India rode comfortably to a six-wicket win with seven balls in hand.

India Women Team News

India Women are in good form and are unlikely to make any changes to their team.

Sri Lanka Women Form

Sri Lanka have lost their last three matches on the bounce by sizeable margins and are not looking in good form.

Nilakshika Silva (29*) top-scored to lift Sri Lanka out of despair at 25/3 but, without any substantial support, Sri Lanka were limited to 93/7 off their 20 overs.

Udeshika Prabodhani (1/19, econ 6.33) made a key early breakthrough and the Sri Lanka bowlers made Australia work hard for their win, which they achieved with six wickets in hand and 5.4 overs to spare.

Sri Lanka Women Team News

Sri Lanka’s batter are really struggling, but their bowlers has been good, as witnessed by them snapping up four Australian wickets in their second World Cup match.

Verdict

India Women v Sri Lanka Women - T20

I am backing India Women to win. I am also backing Jemimah Rodrigues to top score for India Women.

Nilakshika Silva is a good bet to top score for the Sri Lanka Women.
