The men’s T20 Cricket World Cup begins on 18 October 2021 with the UAE and Oman hosting the tournament. India are the odds on favourites to win the title on home soil with betway. India were meant to host the tournament but it was shifted due to the rise in COVID-19 infections in India.
India have only one the global prize on one previous occasion in the T20 format. That was in the inaugural competition back in 2007, hosted in South Africa.
It is perhaps one of the more difficult tournaments to call with a number of sides making great strides in the shortest format. India’s biggest rivals, Pakistan have started finding superb form in the T20 format and with Babar Azam in their ranks, it will take a brave man to bet against them.
England and Australia are certainly in the race for the title while the flamboyant West Indies can never be discounted in this format. The sides struggling in the run up to the tournament is Sri Lanka and South Africa – neither of whom have produced any form to suggest they will be contenders.
