Race 1 – Tp Thunderchild (8) – 2.38

Jockey: Marco V'Rensburg | Trainer: Cliffie Miller

The 3-yr-old bay filly Tp Thunderchild has the best record in her nine-horse field, although she did run just 10 days ago to claim her third straight second-place finish, her best finishes since she first hit the Top 3 in her maiden run in December 2025.

Lovely Dancer has run fairly well at 5-2-8-3-3 and Alleyah’s Rocket has shown some form (2-4-2-5-6) but has strayed in her last two runs. Tipsy is the only other runner in the field with a second place finish in the trophy cabinet, so backing Tp Thunderchild looks a solid choice.

Race 5 – Fantine (1) – 2.25

Night in Japan (3-6-2-3-1) and Gutsy Baby (5-3-6-1-8) have shown both form and inconsistency, but both will be strong challengers out the gate for my pick Fantine.

The 4-yr-old bay filly had a poor 2025 into April of this year, but she has hit her straps in her last three runs, finishing 1-4-2 in big fields and looks to have the legs to take her second career win.

Race 6 – Cruise Control (1) @ 2.38

Jockey: Craig Zackey | Trainer: Dean Smith

Race 6 is a real doozy and will be hard to call as it’s littered with winners. Mercantour comes into the race with back-to-back wins, while Imaginable won his last race. Ingqwele has been running strong (1-1-1-5-3), as has Tripping Thunder (1-1-12-1-6), the latter having two poor runs that are a concern.

Black Egret is another recent winner who has also been a tad inconsistent (5-1-1-5-5), while Guy Gibson (4-3-6-1-6), Mover And Shaker (1-4-5-6-8) and Fairy Knight (1-3-4-3-2) are also recent winners.

My hat is in Cruise Control’s ring, however, as the 7-yr-old bay gelding has had 55 days of well-earned rest after a superb (and well managed) streak of 3-2-1-2-1 finishes in his five races since last October.

Race 8 – Powerofpeace (7) @ 3.25

Jockey: Craig Zackey | Trainer: Dean Smith

The 3-yr-old bay filly Powerofpeace has been rested for 90 days so should be champing at the bit to claim a second career win in just her fourth race. She debuted with a third place in March before claiming her first win in April. May brought a fifth place finish last time out in a field of just seven runners.

She doesn’t have a competitive field to beat out, with Alex Miller (6-2-4-2-2) being the likeliest to push her for the tape, along with Icy Lancaster, although the latter hasn’t been hitting the headlines with finishes of 7-7-6-5-3.

White Waters is fairly low in the odds and could be a wildcard for the win, although the 5-yr-old chestnut mare hasn’t been running strong but she has winner’s blood within her. She offers attractive odds if you’re willing to stray from the more conservative option of Powerofpeace.

White Waters won back-to-back races in October and November of last year for her first wins. A barren spell followed (5-9-11-13-11) before a 70-day break brought her a third career win in July at Fairview. With another 50-day break behind her she is certainly a tempter to back in this race.
