England are the talk of the town at the moment after beating New Zealand last Saturday. Rightly so, they look like real World Cup contenders with a strong, young squad and plenty of depth. However, Argentina are also in good form and confident.

Head to Head
England lead 15-1 in their last 16 matches against Argentina. That run started back in 2009. Argentina’s sole win in that period came in 2022 at Twickenham.
Earlier this year, they met twice, England won both matches but neither side was at full strength for that tour.
England Form
England are once again a force to be reckoned with after showing some superb form throughout 2025. A second-place finish in the Six Nations showed their improvement, only losing to Ireland away throughout.
In July, without their players who were on the B+I Lions tour, England beat Argentina twice and USA, all away from home. Argentina were not at full strength either but regardless, it was impressive from the English.
In November, England started off with a 25-7 victory over Australia before seeing off Fiji 38-18. Last weekend they showed their true form, defeating the All Blacks 33-19 at Twickenham.
England Injuries & Team News
Steve Borthwick has made six changes to his side from last weekend. Luke Cowan-Dickie, Asher Opoku-Fordjour, Ben Spencer, Elliot Daly and Henry Slade are all back in the mix.
Argentina Form
Argentina have continued to grow in stature throughout 2025 and can now be considered a top five or six team. They beat New Zealand and Australia during the Rugby Championship and lost by two points to South Africa.
To start the Quilter Nations Series, Argentina eased past Wales 52-28 at the Principality. Last weekend, against Scotland, Argentina mounted a terrific comeback to win 33-24 at Murrayfield.
Los Pumas were poor in the first half, going into the break 21-0 down. But a different team emerged from the sheds for the second 40, completely dominating their hosts to score five unanswered tries.

Argentina will field their strongest available side with a few tweaks from last weekend. Some of the players who performed in the second half are likely to get a start.
