The Kagame Cup third-place playoff features Al Hilal Omdurman and Jamus, both eager to avoid leaving the tournament empty-handed. Al Hilal has shown slightly stronger form, remaining unbeaten in eight of their last ten matches. Their recent head-to-head success and consistency in the competition make them favorites. Although Jamus have also been solid overall, their recent performances have dipped. The prediction tips in favor of Al Hilal Omdurman to secure the win.

  • Al Hilal Omdurman unbeaten in 8 of last 10 matches.
  • Jamus' recent form has dipped, failing to win 2 of last 3.
  • Al Hilal favored to win based on stronger form & head-to-head edge.

This should be a tight contest between two very good sides. I am backing Al Hilal, who have looked the stronger side in the two previous games, to come out on top.

  • Al Hilal Omdurman are unbeaten in eight of their last 10 matches in all competitions.
  • Al Hilal Omdurman are unbeaten in the last two matches against Jamus.
  • Jamus have failed to win two of their last three matches.

Head to Head

Al Hilal Omdurman lead 1-0 in two matches against Jamus. The other ended in a draw.

Al Hilal Omdurman Form

Al Hilal Omdurman missed out on the final after losing on penalties to Kenyan side Gor Mahia. They bounced back from an early own goal by Steven Ebuela, with Ansumana Samura drawing them level, but ultimately lost in the shootout.

While it was a disappointing defeat, Al Hilal Omdurman will take the positives from their performance. Their showings at the Kagame Cup have also been generally solid, having gone unbeaten in three of four matches.

The task for Al Hilal Omdurman will be to avoid ending the tournament empty-handed. The Sudanese side will take confidence from their overall form, having gone unbeaten in eight of their last 10 matches in all competitions.

Jamus Form

Jamus were disappointing in their semi-final clash, suffering a 3-1 defeat to Rayon Sport of Tanzania. They were second best throughout the contest, with Diallo Bandiougou’s second-half effort proving a mere consolation.

While it was the first defeat in the tournament for Jamus, their performances seem to be worsening as the competition progresses. They have now failed to win two of their last three matches.

However, like Al Hilal Omdurman, Jamus will also be keen to avoid leaving the tournament empty-handed. Their overall form has also been solid, having gone unbeaten in nine of their last 10 in all competitions.

News and Predicted Line-ps

Al Hilal Omdurman (4-3-3): Farid Ouedraogo; Steven Ebuela, Babe Diarra, Ousmane Diouf, Ernest Luzolo; Magemeno Petrus, Yagoub Taha, Haman Mandjan; Salim Adams, Ahmed M’Bareck, Sunday Adetunji.

Despite scoring an own goal in the semi-final, Ebuela should retain his place at the back for Al Hilal Omdurman. Haman Mandjan is set to continue in midfield while Sunday Adetunji should lead the line once again.

Jamus (4-3-3): Majak Mawith; Haniff Wesonga, Mohamed Kesra, Jean Ngumbi, Thomas Bawak Eta; Gosim Elenga, Mario Taban; Dhata Stephen, Kevin Muhire, Diallo Bandiougou, Laurent Ramazani.

Bandiougou scored off the bench for Jamus in the semi-final and could earn a start on Friday. Ramazani should feature in attack once again while Kesra is set to continue at the back.

Verdict

Both teams will be keen to leave the Kagame Cup with something and will be fired up for this one.

However, Al Hilal Omdurman have been slightly better than Jamus so far and given their record in this fixture, will be confident of coming out on top.
