Comoros qualified for the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations after finishing second behind Egypt in their group. They managed some impressive results along the way including home draw against the Egyptians.

Prior to AFCON, Comoros won three of their last four matches. That came with wins over the Seychelles, Burundi and Sierra Leone. They did lose their final friendly 2-1 against Malawi.

Comoros however suffered a 1-0 defeat in their opening match of the Africa Cup of Nations against Gabon. They didn’t offer enough going forward despite being a goal down for the majority of the match.
