Blackburn vs Cardiff

Cardiff ended an eight-match winless streak by beating Charlton 3-1 at home. They’re not big on goals of late, averaging just over a goal a game but they’ve lost their last three matches on the road with just one goal to show for their efforts.

Blackburn have been in better form with three wins in their last six games but have conceded just 10 goals in 10 matches, so I’m backing them to limit Cardiff to one goal or less.

Watford vs Burnley

Burnley have gone nine matches without a win, losing five of those encounters and shipping 17 goals. They have scored in all but one of those matches, so I wouldn’t bet against them scoring.

Watford have five defeats in seven and have been goalless in three of their last five matches, conceding 14 goals in their last seven matches. This has the makings of a low-scoring draw, but Watford have been so poor they look more likely to lose. The sensible bet looks to be for two match goals or less, which covers a low-scoring draw.

Preston vs Millwall

Both sides have scraped in just one win in five but they’ve both been scoring goals. Preston have a goal ratio of 6:9 in five matches while Millwall have 9:8 in five matches. I’m backing three or more goals in the match.

Millwall are unbeaten in their last five matches against Preston and have scored in their last eight matches on the road against them. They’ve also scored twice in each of their last two matches so they are in goal-scoring mood.

Derby vs Wrexham

Derby are one of the poorest performers in the Championship after soaking up five defeats in eight matches and with just one win. They haven’t won at home this season while Wrexham have lost just one of their four matches on the road.

Derby are almost level with Wrexham in the early odds, but with Derby scoring just twice in their last four matches I’m backing Wrexham to make it three wins and two draws from their last six matches.

I’m backing Cardiff to defend tight against Blackburn, Watford and Burnley to struggle to find the net, Preston and Millwall to score plenty, while Derby are my pick to taste another home defeat.
