The FA Cup 4th Round offers intriguing matchups as Burnley faces Mansfield for a confidence boost amidst their relegation battle, while Norwich looks to extend their impressive form against West Brom. Southampton is predicted to outscore Leicester, capitalizing on their winning streak, and Aston Villa vs Newcastle poses a challenge, with Newcastle favored for an FA Cup run despite Villa's strong league form. Predictions lean towards a Norwich home win, a Saints victory with plenty of goals, and an exciting clash between Villa and Newcastle where Newcastle might edge out.

FA Cup Predictions - 4th Round

Burnley vs Mansfield

Burnley are headed for the Premier League trapdoor unless they start pulling in some wins. An FA Cup meeting against struggling League One side Mansfield is an opportunity for them to boost their confidence for the Premier League relegation battle. The lure of a Wembley final is also a strong pull. Burnley’s form is on the rise, with two wins, two draws and two defeats in their last six matches.

Mansfield had a five-match winning streak at the turn of the year, followed by four draws on the bounce. Their last match was a 2-1 home defeat to Peterborough, while Burnley beat Crystal Palace on the road, so Burnley look like a good bet to take this match. Mansfield have won four of their last seven matches on the road (plus three draws) so they travel well. They also beat Sheffield United 4-3 away in the last round of the FA Cup, so Burnley will have their work cut out for them.

Norwich vs West Brom

This should be open and shut for Norwich, who have won six of their last seven matches. West Brom have lost three of their last six matches, along with three draws and have lost five, drawn three and won one of their last nine matches.

Norwich have conceded just two goals in their last five matches while scoring 12 goals. West Brom have failed to score in four of their last five games, scoring just once in their 1-1 draw with Derby, so this is stacking up as a home win to nil.

Southampton vs Leicester

Southampton have beaten struggling Leicester 3-0 and 4-3 this season in the Championship, the second win coming midweek. The Saints have won their last three on the bounce, with four wins and a draw in their last five. Leicester have lost their last four in a row and haven’t won in their last six matches.

Leicester are battling against relegation and might save their best efforts for the Championship, while the Saints are one point off the playoffs and should see this match as a chance to hone their winning form. I’m backing a Saints win with plenty of goals to entertain the crowds.

Aston Villa vs Newcastle

Villa have won two and drawn one of their last three matches against Newcastle and are chasing Arsenal for a shot at the title as they are just seven points behind the leaders. Newcastle are sitting mid-table and might throw everything at an FA Cup run, while Villa might leave something in the tank for their title push.

Villa have lost just three of their last 20 matches, while Newcastle have lost four and drawn one of their last six. Newcastle's cup form has been good, making it to the semi-final of the League Cup, beating PSV 3-0 at home and drawing 1-1 away to PSG, with both matches in the Champions League. Villa have the form, but I’m fancying Newcastle will have the freedom to take this one.

Verdict

Burnley to beat Mansfield in a tough clash, while Norwich to whip West Brom.

Southampton to see off relegation strugglers Leicester, Newcastle to keep up their cup form by beating Villa.
