Brighton vs Leeds Preview & Tips

Both sides head into this clash on the back of poor runs of form. After a promising start to the league campaign, Brighton’s form has dipped of late while Leeds' form has led to some questioning the future of head coach Marcelo Bielsa.

With both out of sorts, a draw is predicted at the Amex Stadium.

Brighton are winless in their last 7 matches (Premier League)
Brighton are winless in 4 of their last 5 home matches (Premier League)
Brighton have drawn 5 of their previous 7 matches (Premier League)
Leeds are winless in 4 of their last 5 matches (Premier League)
Leeds are winless in 5 of their last 6 away matches (Premier League)

Head to Head

These two teams have met just twice in the Premier League in the past with Brighton winning both games last season.

The Seagulls have won eight of the last nine meetings against the visitors in all competitions.

Brighton Form

The Seagulls have had trouble turning draws into wins in the Premier League in recent months with Graham Potter’s team sharing the points in five of their last seven league games.

Last time out, they suffered a disappointing 2-0 defeat at Aston Villa. The loss came on the back of two straight draws against Liverpool and Newcastle.

Brighton Team News

Brighton will be without Steven Alzate and Danny Welbeck through injury, while Enock Mwepu is a fitness doubt.

Leeds Form

Leeds' recent league form has been poor, and a run of just one win in their last five league matches has them sitting in 17th position in the table just two points above the relegation zone.

A 2-1 defeat at Tottenham in their last league outing followed a three-game unbeaten run that consisted of a win against Newcastle and two draws against Wolves and Leicester.

Leeds Team News

Leeds are without Robin Koch, Luke Ayling and Patrick Bamford through injury, while Raphinha is a doubt alongside Jamie Shackleton.

Verdict

Brighton v Leeds

Both of these teams could use a result, but I'm predicting another stalemate for recent draw specialists Brighton.
