Since then, results have not gone quite hte way the Sounders would have liked. They lost at home to Minnesota and also suffered a 3-0 defeat to the Vancouver Whitecaps.

Seattle Sounders lost their opening game of the Club World CUp to Botafogo who went 2-0 up in the first half. Cristian Roldan pulled a goal back with 15 minutes to play but the Sounders couldn't find another.

Atletico Madrid will be eager to put their opening game behind them as fast as possible. European champions, PSG completely dominated them, winning 4-0 on the night. The sending off of Clement Lenglet did not help the Spanish side at all.

Last season was pretty average by Atletico's standards. They did manage a third place La Liga finish but won no silverware.
