This preview analyzes the upcoming football match between Nigeria and DR Congo. Nigeria, known for their prolific goal-scoring, is led by the in-form Victor Osimhen. They have delivered convincing performances, scoring eight goals in their last two matches and winning four of their last five. Despite DR Congo's form, marked by three consecutive 1-0 wins, Nigeria is favored for a victory, leveraging their attacking capabilities to break the Congolese defense. Osimhen is expected to play a pivotal role, both in leading the offense and influencing the match outcome.

Nigeria have been full of goals and Victor Osimhen is in great touch. DR Congo on the other hand offer less going forward but are very strong defensively, as proven in their last three games that ended 1-0 in their favour.

Nigeria Form

Nigeria just snuck into the World Cup playoff semi-finals with a victory on the final day of the group stage. Goal difference by +1 is what eventually secured their place.

The Super Eagles were poor in qualifying, particularly at the start, but they improved as the campaign went on. Winning two of their final three matches with one draw was crucial to claim second place.

In the final group game, Nigeria defeated Benin 4-0 at home. That put them in the semi-final against Gabon, which took place on Thursday.

Nigeria took the lead in the 78th minute but Gabon equalised in the 89th to take the game to extra time. Once there, Nigeria dominated, scoring three unanswered goals, two of which came from Victor Osimhen’s boot. Osimhen also scored a hattrick in the game before against Benin.
