Live Stream Bundesliga in South Africa

COVID-19 wiped out the majority of sport over the last two or three months around the globe but it has returned via the German Bundesliga. The Bundesliga is the first of the five major European leagues to restart their 2019/20 league season.

It restarted with nine fixtures remaining, now eight for the majority of teams. With it being the only major league to be currently underway interest in South Africa is huge. South Africa’s major paid for TV network, SuperSport does not own the rights to broadcast the Bundesliga but South African fans do not need to fear.

While online bookmakers globally have for some time live streamed many sports and leagues around the globe, some South African sites are dipping their toes into the water with Bundesliga. And it is simple – you just need to have an active account to be able to watch.

How do things currently stand in the Bundesliga?

Bayern Munich went into the forced COVID-19 break four points clear of Dortmund and five clear of third placed RB Leipzig. Things have changed a bit after the first weekend back but Munich’s four point lead over Dortmund remains after both recorded comfortable victories.

RB Leipzig moved down to fourth after a 1-1 draw against Frieburg while Monchengladbach moved to third thanks to an impressive 3-1 away victory over Eintracht Frankfurt.

Down at the bottom things are looking a bit more straightforward. Paderborn sit bottom on 17 points and six points from safety. Their 0-0 draw against Dusseldorf was a lost opportunity as Dusseldorf is sitting right above the relegation zone.

Werder Bremen, second bottom on 18 points and five points from safety suffered a heavy 4-1 defeat at home to Leverkusen. Both Bremen and Paderborn will need a minor miracle with eight matches to go if they want to stay in the top German division.

Bundesliga Upcoming Fixtures

This weekend sees some interesting fixtures thrown into the mix. Bayern Munich will hope to keep the four point gap as they host Frankfurt while Dortmund face a daunting trip to sixth placed Wolfburg. Perhaps the fixture of the weekend sees third placed Monchengladbach host Bayer Leverkusen – currently fifth and two points behind their hosts.
