Liverpool vs AC Milan Predictions - Liverpool to keep winning in pre-season

Liverpool are set to face AC Milan in a pre-season friendly, with the Reds coming off a convincing 3-1 win against Preston. With no injuries and new talents like Florian Wirtz joining the squad, Liverpool seem well-prepared. In contrast, AC Milan are struggling for consistency having lost three of their last four games and recently appointing Max Allegri as manager. Liverpool's strong head-to-head advantage and recent form make them favorites to win, especially with potential for a high-scoring match.

Liverpool vs AC Milan Predictions

Milan recently lost to Arsenal and didn't look very sharp, although pre-season games can be quite misleading. Regardless, Liverpool have looked in good touch, so I fancy them at home.

  • Liverpool have won 4 of their last 8 games.
  • Liverpool have seen over 3.5 goals in 5 of their last 6 matches.
  • Liverpool have won 5 consecutive matches against AC Milan.
  • Liverpool have seen over 2.5 goals in their last 4 games against AC Milan.
  • AC Milan have lost 3 of their last 4 matches.
  • AC Milan have seen over 2.5 goals in 3 of their last 6 games.

Head to Head

Liverpool have a 6-1 advantage against AC Milan in eight meetings with one draw.

Liverpool Form

Arne Slot’s Liverpool impressed in the 2024/25 season and won the Premier League title. The Merseyside team lost just four league fixtures.

The Reds ended the campaign with a 3-2 loss to Brighton and a 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace.

Liverpool began pre-season with a comfortable 3-1 away win at Preston. Slot’s side had 65% possession, 15 shots and Conor Bradley, Darwin Nunez and Cody Gakpo scored.

Liverpool Team News

Liverpool have no injuries.

Jeremie Frimpong, Milos Kerkez and goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili made their debuts against Preston and could start.

New signing Florian Wirtz has travelled with the Reds and is expected to make his debut.

AC Milan Form

AC Milan are in inconsistent form and have lost three of their previous four games. The Rossoneri lost the Coppa Italia final 1-0 to Bologna and were beaten 3-1 by Roma late last season.

The Serie A outfit finished the campaign with a 2-0 home win over Monza. Milan then sacked Sergio Conceicao and replaced him with Max Allegri as manager.

Allegri oversaw a 1-0 loss to Arsenal in his first game in charge. The Rossoneri had just 0.22 XG, three shots and conceded in the 53rd minute.

AC Milan Team News

Allegri has a fully fit squad to select from.

Rafael Leao started as the lone striker against Arsenal and is in line to occupy this position again.

Verdict

Liverpool brushed Preston aside to start pre-season and can build winning form against a patchy AC Milan side. It’s worth sticking with the Reds to win in this friendly clash.
