Asante Kotoko Appoint South African Coach - Eric Tinkler Joins Ghana's Giants
South African football veteran Eric Tinkler has been named head coach of Ghana’s Asante Kotoko, a club with two historic CAF Champions League titles but a recent disappointing 10th-place league finish. Tinkler, a former Serie A and EPL player with 48 Bafana Bafana caps and significant coaching credentials, joins forces with Technical Director Stanley Menzo. Backed by both CAF A and UEFA A licenses, Tinkler’s appointment is expected to usher in a new era of professionalism and renewed ambition for the storied Ghanaian club.

South African coach Eric Tinkler was appointed on Friday as the new head coach of Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko.
The club finished tenth last season, but have won two CAF Champions League titles in their history.
Strong CV
Boasting 48 caps for Bafana Bafana and spells in Serie A and the English Premier League as a player, Eric Tinkler brings huge experience. He holds both the CAF A and UEFA A Coaching Licences.
As a coach, he has lifted two trophies and finished as a runner-up in the CAF Champions League as coach of Orlando Pirates. He was also a losing finalist in the CAF Confederations Cup with SuperSport United.
South African Connection
Former Ajax Cape Town coach Stanley Menzo is the Technical Director at Asante Kotoko. The former goalkeeper enjoyed a prestigious playing career with Ajax Amsterdam.
Menzo has moved quickly to capture Tinkler's signature after the coach's departure from Sekhukhune United in April. Tinkler has several seasons in charge of Cape Town City, including achieving a third-place finish.
