Orlando Pirates Release Six Players - Four Additions Arrive with Ndlovu Linked

Six Bucs Departures Confirmed
Orlando Pirates have announced the acquisition of four new players ahead of next season. In addition, Bucs have allowed six players to depart the club.
The players let go are Tshegofatso Mabasa, Sipho Mbule, Thabiso Lebitso, Gilberto, Bandile Shandu and Karim Kimvuidi. Lebitso has joined Stellenbosch, whilst Mabasa leaves Pirates as their second-top goalscorer in the club’s history.
Striker Bids Farewell
Mabasa penned an open letter to the supporters, saying: “Eight years ago, a young man walked through the doors of Rand Stadium with nothing but a dream and a hunger to succeed.
“Today, I leave this great institution with immense gratitude and pride. Thank you to Orlando Pirates for giving me the opportunity to be part of a club whose history and legacy will forever remain close to my heart.
“To every player, coach, staff member, and teammate I shared this journey with, thank you for the memories, friendships, and moments that will stay with me forever.
The forward mentioned historic moments shared, such as winning the 2023/24 Golden Boot and ending the club’s 14-year wait for a league title. He also highlighted his place as the club’s second top scorer with 50 goals.
Four New Sea Robbers Signed
Pirates announced the addition of four players to Abdeslam Ouaddou’s squad.
Sbangani Zulu – arrives from Richards Bay. The centre back helped his club to eight clean sheets, including one against Mamelodi Sundowns.
Ghampani Lungu – the Zambian arrives from Siwelele. He can play up front, on the wings or at right back. He scored a hattrick last season in a 7-4 defeat to Sundowns.
Mthetheleli Mthiyane - a highly rated midfielder from Stellenbosch. He will provide depth in the engine room.
Bohale Ngwato – a young winger from Siwelele, who looks set to have a bright future. He scored one goal in the PSL last season.
Orlando Pirates Transfer Targets
Pirates are expected to sign several more players. Siyanda Ndlovu of Golden Arrows appears to be their main target to boost the wide areas.
Cape Town City’s Emile Witbooi is another target as a possible Rele Mofokeng replacement, if the latter is sold abroad.
