Stellenbosch vs AmaZulu Predictions - Low Scoring Draw Predicted in Durban

The upcoming PSL fixture between Stellenbosch and AmaZulu is expected to end in a draw, with recent transfer activity disrupting both squads. Stellenbosch have only one win in their last six games, while AmaZulu ended their previous season with four draws in eight matches. Both sides have struggled for goals, and the head-to-head record slightly favors Stellenbosch, but squad changes could balance things out. The recommended bet is a 0-0 correct score, indicating a likely low-scoring affair.

Stellenbosch vs AmaZulu Predictions

This is effectively an away game for Stellies. I see this match ending in a draw after disruptive transfer windows for the two clubs.

Key Stats – Draw on the Cards

  • Stellenbosch have drawn 2 of their last 3 matches.
  • Stellenbosch have failed to score in 4 of their last 5 matches.
  • AmaZulu have drawn 4 of their last 8 matches.
  • AmaZulu have failed to score in 2 of their last 3 matches.

Head to Head – Stellies Hold Advantage

Stellenbosch hold an 8-6 advantage across 18 previous meetings with four draws.

Stellenbosch have won six of the last nine meetings between the sides, including 1-0 at home in February 2026.

One Win in Six – Stellies Finished Ninth Last Term

Stellenbosch turned their 2025-26 season around after appointing Gavin Hunt as coach. However, they won just once in their final six PSL matches after securing safety.

A fine 1-1 draw at Mamelodi Sundowns preceded a 1-0 loss away to Polokwane City. They lost 2-0 at home to Orlando Pirates and could only draw 0-0 away at Durban City.

A 2-0 home win over Orbit College in round 29 was followed by a tight 0-0 draw at Marumo Gallants on the final day.

Four Draws in Eight – AmaZulu Finished Fourth Last Term

AmaZulu secured a top four finish in the PSL last season. They won just two of their last eight matches with four draws.

A 3 -0 defeat at Orlando Pirates saw 3.97 xG conceded before a superb 5-1 home win over Chippa United. A 1-1 vs Golden Arrows and a 0-0 stalemate at Orbit College followed.

After losing 1-0 at home to Kaizer Chiefs, they won on the final day. A 1-0 win at Durban City saw an 81st minute winner for Usuthu.

Predicted Lineups & Team News

Stellenbosch (4-2-3-1): Stephens; Lebitso, Nhlabathi, Lebusa, Mashego; Mthethwa, Matlou; Titus, Kwayiba, Sibande; Makhubu.

Stellies have seen a number of key players sold. Last season’s top scorer Langelihle Phili will play no part as he nears a move to Kaizer Chiefs.

At the back, four centre backs have departed. That could mean a start for new youngster Surprise Nhlabathi.

AmaZulu (3-4-3): Mzimela; Allan, Fielies, Hanamub; Radebe, Bern, Moralo, Mdaka; Zikhali, Matlhoko, Maqokola.

Coach Arthur Zwane is without goalkeeper Darren Johnson due to a long-term injury. Omega Mdaka has been signed from Stellenbosch and could start at left wingback.

Some experienced players have departed the club but they were not playing regularly. Gape Moralo is set to boost the engine room.

Verdict

I'm backing this match to end in a draw. A 0-0 correct score bet is excellent value.
