Atletico Madrid have lost 5 of their last 7 matches against Barcelona.
Barcelona have won 9 of their last 11 matches.
Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal has scored 3 goals in his last 4 matches (UCL).

Head to Head

Barcelona and Atletico Madrid have met 251 times with Barca winning 115 times. Atletico have 79 victories along with 57 draws.

Atletico Madrid Form

Atletico Madrid gained a huge 2-0 advantage against Barcelona in the UCL quarterfinal last week in Catalunya. Julian Alvarez broke the deadlock with a stunning free-kick goal just before break, while the final score was set by Alexander Sorloth in second half.

Diego Simeone’s side has been in disastrous form in La Liga recently though, currently on a three-game losing run.

After losing 3-2 to Real Madrid and Barcelona 2-1, their negative streak resumed last weekend with a 2-1 loss at Sevilla, posting just 0.84 xG and firing two shots on target.

They also had problems in the previous UCL round, losing the second tie to Tottenham 3-2 but advancing 7-5 on aggregate.

Barcelona Form

Barcelona were the ones controlling the first tie against Atletico Madrid all until Pau Cubarsi was sent off in the 44th minute. They ended the match with 1.10-0.43 xG, 58% possession and 18-5 shots.

Hansi Flick’s side returned to winning last weekend in the Catalan derby, beating Espanyol 4-1 where Ferran Torres scored a brace, Lamine Yamal registering two assists and one goal.

After this round, their advantage over Real Madrid in the La Liga title race increased to nine points with just seven rounds left to be played. Barca secured 26 wins in 31 matches so far.

Atletico Madrid vs Barcalona News & Predicted Lineups

Atletico Madrid (4-4-2): Juan Musso, Nahuel Molina, Clement Lenglet, Robin Le Normand, Matteo Ruggeri, Giuliano Simeone, Marcos Llorente, Koke, Ademola Lookman, Antoine Griezmann, Julian Alvarez

David Hancko, Johnny Cardoso and Pablo Barrios are likely to miss this clash due to injuries, while Jose Gimenez and Jan Oblak are doubtful. Marc Pubill is serving a one-game suspension.

Barcelona (4-2-3-1): Joan Garcia, Jules Kounde, Ronald Araujo, Eric Garcia, Joao Cancelo, Pedri, Frenkie de Jong, Lamine Yamal, Fermin Lopez, Marcus Rashford, Ferran Torres

Pau Cubarsi won't travel to Madrid due to suspension, Raphinha and Andreas Christensen missing the match due to injuries. Marc Bernal and Gerard Martin are doubtful.

Verdict

Atletico Madrid v Barcelona

Even with Cubarsi sent off early, Barcelona dominated possession, had more shots and higher xG in the first tie last week. I will back them to bounce back and win in Madrid on Tuesday.
