Czech Republic Form

Czech Republic came to the European Championships in poor form. They played two friendlies that ended in a 4-0 defeat against Italy and a 3-1 win against Albania.

Jaroslav Silhavy’s side started Euro 2020 with a 2-0 win against Scotland. Patrick Schick scored both goals including an effort from the halfway line.

The Czech’s followed up with a 1-1 draw against Croatia with Schick opening the scoring from the penalty spot.

Czech Republic suffered a 1-0 defeat to England in their final group game. They couldn’t find an equaliser after falling behind in the 12th minute.

It looked like a tall order against Netherlands in the Round of 16. The Oranje were reduced to 10 men in the 55th minute however, and they took advantage with Tomás Holes and Schick on target in a 2-0 victory.
