South Africa vs West Indies Women Predictions

Both sides are in a good run of form, but the South Africans have had the better of the West Indies in recent meetings, so I am backing them for the win.

South Africa’s Laura Wolvaardt has scored 36, 45, 33 & 29 in her last 4 innings.
South Africa’s Annerie Dercksen has scored 44*, 19 & 21* in her last 3 innings.
West Indies’ Hayley Matthews scored 42 off 46 balls in the warm-up match against Australia.
West Indies’ Stafanie Taylor has scored 33 & 38 in her last 3 innings.

Head-to-Head

South Africa have won three of their last four WT20I matches against the West Indies.

South Africa Women Form

South Africa beat Pakistan in their most recent WT20I to claim a 2-1 series win.

Pakistan scored 153/5 off their 20 overs, Sune Luus (1/18, econ 4.50) registering the best figures for the Proteas.

South Africa batted superbly, chasing down their target with nine balls to spare and with eight wickets in hand, with Laura Wolvaardt (45), Anneke Bosch (46) and Annerie Dercksen (44*) all batting superbly.

South Africa Women Team News

South Africa are in good form and are unlikely to make any changes to their team.

West Indies Women Form

After losing the first WT20I against Sri Lanka, the West Indies won the next two matches to take the series 2-1

The West Indies restricted Sri Lanka to 141/7 off their 20 overs, Aaliyah Alleyne and Afy Fletcher both returning figures of 2/25 (econ 6.25).

Hayley Matthews’ 49 off 40 balls was the backbone of the West Indies chase, reaching their target with one ball and six wickets in hand.

West Indies Women Team News

There are no injury reports from the West Indies Women squad.

Verdict

South Africa Women v West Indies Women - T20

I am backing South Africa Women to win. I am also backing Laura Wolvaardt to top score for South Africa Women.

Hayley Matthews is a good bet to top score for the West Indies Women.
