Stafanie Taylor hooks powerfully against Australia.

West Indies vs Scotland Women Predictions

Both sides lost their opening match in this World Cup, but the West Indies have far too much experience and ability to be troubled by Scotland. They should take this match with ease… although Scotland did bowl well against Bangladesh!

West Indies Women’s Stafanie Taylor has scored 38 & 44* in her last 5 innings.
West Indies Women’s Hayley Matthews top-scored with 42 off 46 balls in the warm-up loss to Australia.
Scotland Women’s Sarah Bryce top-scored with 49* off 52 balls in the opening loss to Bangladesh.
Scotland Women’s Saskia Horley has scored 71*, 43 & 48 in her last 5 innings.

Head-to-Head

This will be the first meeting between the two teams.

West Indies Women Form

After winning two matches on the bounce against Sri Lanka, the West Indies were hammered by 10 wickets against South Africa in their opener.

Stafanie Taylor (44 off 41 balls) was the only batter to pass 20 as the superb South African attack squeezed them to just 118/6 off their 20 overs.

South Africa raced to the win off 17.5 overs without losing a wicket. Matthews was the most economical of the West Indies bowling, returning figures of 4-0-22-0 (econ 5.50).

West Indies Women Team News

There are no injury reports from the West Indies squad.

Scotland Women Form

Scotland lost their World Cup opener against Bangladesh by 16 runs.

Scotland bowled superbly to limit Bangladesh to just 119/7 off their 20 overs. Saskia Horley (3/13, econ 6.50) was the pick of an exceptional bowling performance from Scotland.

Sarah Bryce scored an undefeated 49 off 52 balls, but with none of her team-mates passing 11, she lacked the batting support needed to clinch the win. Scotland ended their 20 overs on 103/7, just 16 runs short of what would have been an astonishing victory.

Scotland Women Team News

Scotland will be hoping their batters can support the good work of their bowlers in their opener against Bangladesh.
