India find themselves 2-0 down in the five-match series and must now win the third fixture to stay in the series. In Cuttack the hosts went down by four wickets during the 2nd T20.
Batting first yet again India could only post 148 runs. The pitch was a bit slower than for the 1st T20 where both sides scored 200+ runs. Ishan Kishan performed well again, scoring 34 runs while Sheyas Iyer top scored with 40 runs.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar bowled superbly, taking 4-13 in four overs but he had little support from elsewhere. South Africa went on to win by four wickets with four balls to spare.
India Team News
India could look to make some changes to their side. Dinesh Karthik may get an opportunity higher up the order as they look for quicker scoring through the middle overs.
South Africa Form
South Africa hold a 2-0 lead in the series and are now hunting for an unassailable 3-0 lead. After a magnificent run chase in the opening match, the visitors stuttered a bit in the second but still got over the line.
Kagiso Rabada bowled well, taking 1-15 in four overs to restrict India to 148 runs in 20 overs. Temba Bavuma responded with 35 runs at the top of the order but three early wickets put India right back in the match.
It was left to a magnificent innings of 81 by Heinrich Klaasen to steer South Africa home. David Miller’s good form continued with 20* off 15 balls.
South Africa Injuries
Quinton de Kock was given a rest in the 2nd T20 but should return for this match. Aiden Markram is another who is expected to be given a run.
