Kingsmead is certainly the most suitable pitch in South Africa to their visitors. It has been relayed so perhaps there will be a bit more pace, South Africa will at least hope for that.

South Africa effectively go into this series with a second choice bowling lineup with some of their biggest players at the IPL.

Kagiso Rabada, Lungi Ngidi, Marco Jansen and Anrich Nortje are unavailable due to their IPL commitments. On the batting side, Aiden Markram and Rassie van der Dussen will also miss this series for the same reason.

Bangladesh Form

Bangladesh come into this series with some incredible confidence. They have an opportunity that may never again present itself – winning a Test series in South Africa for the first time ever.

The Tigers caused a huge upset by winning the recently completed ODI series against South Africa, their first ever series victory in the country. But their Test side is also strong, having drawn their most recent series 1-1 in New Zealand.

They lost the second Test but won the first one. That was another first for Bangladesh, and considering all the players South Africa are without, this is a great opportunity that may never again present itself to The Tigers.
