Head to Head

The Fidelity ADT Lions have a commanding lead of 18 victories to eight against the Suzuki Griquas in 28 meetings in the Carling Currie Cup since 2010.

Griquas Form

Reigning Carling Currie Cup champions, the Griquas, won their second consecutive match of the season last weekend, beating the Cheetahs 24-21 at home after leading 17-7 at half-time.

Before that result, the team from Kimberley faced the Stormers XXIII in their opening match of the season away to the Stormers, losing 25-19 away from home before cruising to an easy 56-26 victory over the Bulls.

The Suzuki Griquas are second in the Currie Cup table with 11 points from three matches.

The Griquas have an opportunity to move to the top of the league standings this weekend when they host the Lions, having defeated their opponents in last season's final, and they have won two of their last three home games against them .

Lions Form

The Lions secured back-to-back victories in the 2026 Currie Cup after the home side defeated the Bulls 42-19, after an impressive first-half display, which saw the hosts lead 28-0 at the break.

Before that, the Golden Lions came up short in their season opener against the Cheetahs, losing 29-27 away from home before defeating the Pumas 52-29 at home.

The Fidelity ADT Lions are first in the Currie Cup standings with 12 points after three rounds.

The Lions come into their clash against the Griquas with two solid wins on home soil behind them, but they must improve their away form to have a chance of victory, having lost three of their last five matches, and their hosts are on an eight-match winning streak.
