The Griquas have surged to the top of the Currie Cup table, boasting an impressive nine-match home winning streak and ten victories in their last twelve fixtures. Meanwhile, the Sharks, despite their historical head-to-head advantage, have struggled in away games, losing seven of their last eight on the road and their last three visits to the Griquas. Given recent performance and momentum, the Griquas are strongly favored to cover the -14.5 handicap against the Sharks in this encounter.

Griquas vs Sharks Predictions

The Griquas returned to the top of the Currie Cup standings after their latest victory and are on a lengthy winning streak at home. The Sharks secured their first win of the season in the previous match but have struggled to beat the Griquas away from home in recent clashes.

  • Griquas have won 10 of their last 12 fixtures (Currie Cup).
  • Griquas have won 9 consecutive home matches (Currie Cup).
  • Sharks have lost 7 of their last 8 away fixtures (Currie Cup).
  • Sharks have lost 3 consecutive away matches against the Griquas (Currie Cup).

Head to Head

The Hollywoodbets Sharks have the advantage over the Suzuki Griquas, with 17 victories to ten in 27 meetings in the Carling Currie Cup since 2010.

Griquas Form

The Griquas climbed to the top of the table after facing the Lions at home last weekend, winning 31-19 after leading 13-7 at the break.

Before that result, the defending champions lost 25-19 to the Stormers XXIII away from home in their opening match of the season before thumping the Bulls 56-26 and beating the Cheetahs at home, respectively.

The Suzuki Griquas are first in the Currie Cup table with 16 points from four matches.

The Griquas have been playing well at home this season, winning all their matches, and they are on a three-match winning streak against the Sharks in Kimberley.

Sharks Form

The Hollywoodbets Sharks registered their first victory of the season last weekend, beating Boland 19-12 at home after leading 14-5 at half-time.

Earlier in their campaign, the team from Durban narrowly defeated the Pumas 26-24 away from home before losing 43-21 to the Cheetahs and 36-28 to the Stormers XXIII.

The Hollywoodbets Sharks are fifth in the Currie Cup standings with 11 points after four rounds.

The Sharks will be pleased to have picked up their first win of their campaign, but face a tough assignment away from home against the Griquas, as their opponents are on a nine-match winning streak in their own backyard.
