The St Lucia Kings are favored to make it two wins in two matches in the Caribbean Premier League. Andries Gous, opening the batting, is a strong pick to score over 30 runs, while Alick Athanaze is backed for 20+ runs. Bowlers Maheesh Theekshana and Jason Holder are both tipped to take more than 1.5 wickets in their respective games. If these players perform as predicted, the Kings are well placed for another victory. Key focus: Look at these players for standout performances.

Head-to-Head

St Lucia Kings have won their last four matches in the Caribbean Premier League against the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots.

St Lucia Kings Form

Saint Lucia Kings have made an excellent start to their CPL 2026 campaign, opening with a thrilling four-run victory over Antigua & Barbuda Falcons. The win has lifted the defending champions to second on the points table with two points and a positive net run rate.

The Kings held their nerve in a high-scoring contest after posting 187/8. Andries Gous was the star with the bat, striking a superb 82 from 51 balls to earn the Player of the Match award, while Ackeem Auguste added 18.

Although the Falcons threatened to chase the target, the Kings’ bowlers delivered under pressure. Maheesh Theekshana and Roston Chase claimed two wickets each, with Chase also playing a crucial role in the closing stages to help secure the narrow win.

Tim Seifert has been their standout batter in recent T20 cricket, scoring 349 runs in his last nine matches, while Auguste has made 227 runs in his last 10 outings. With the ball, Chase has taken 10 wickets in his last eight T20s, and Theekshana made an immediate impact with two wickets in his first appearance of the season.

With explosive batting, experienced spin options and early winning momentum, the Saint Lucia Kings will be confident of extending their strong start.

St Kitts and Nevis Patriots Form

St Kitts and Nevis Patriots are still searching for their first win of CPL 2026 after suffering a 19-run DLS defeat to Trinbago Knight Riders in their opening fixture. The result has left them fifth on the points table with a net run rate of -1.267.

The Patriots struggled with the bat in their previous outing, posting only 109/9 in 20 overs. Kevin Wickham top-scored with 38 from 44 balls, while Johnson Charles added 21 from 25, but the innings lacked fluency and partnerships.

Their bowlers worked hard despite defending a below-par total. Captain Jason Holder returned 1/13 from three overs, while Waqar Salamkheil claimed 1/18 from his three-over spell. However, Trinbago reached the revised target comfortably.

Andre Fletcher remains the Patriots’ leading batter on recent form, with 297 runs in his last 10 T20s. Holder has also been valuable with both bat and ball, scoring 252 runs at a strike rate of 169.12 and taking 13 wickets in his last 10 matches. Waqar has impressed too, claiming 12 wickets despite an economy rate of 8.58.

The Patriots have plenty of experience, but they will need a stronger batting display and better partnerships to claim their first win.

Team news

Gros Islet should be warm, partly cloudy and mostly dry, with true bounce aiding strokeplay early before spin grows later. A first-innings 170-180 could be very competitive on this surface.

St Lucia Kings (possible XI): Andries Gous, Kamil Pooran, Ackeem Auguste, Jewel Andrew, Roston Chase (c), Darren Nedd, Matthew Forde, Joshua Bishop, Shadley van Schalkwyk, McKenny Clarke, Maheesh Theekshana.

St Kitts and Nevis Patriots (possible XI): Andre Fletcher, Johnson Charles, Kyle Mayers, Alick Athanaze, Kevin Wickham, Jason Holder (c), Navin Bidaisee, Ashmead Nedd, Saurabh Netravalkar, Obed McCoy, Waqar Salamkheil.

Verdict

St Lucia Kings are tipped to claim a second win in two matches. Andries Gous is worth backing to score more runs at the top of the order, while Maheesh Theekshana, Alick Athanaze and Jason Holder are my picks to star with the bat and ball for their sides.
