The Scarlets defeated the Lions 32-19 before losing 12-3 to the Sharks, 33-21 to Leinster, 29-18 to the Lions, and 29-19 to the Sharks in their last five away fixtures.

The Scarlets have been struggling to come up with the goods when playing away from home, losing seven of their last nine matches, and they lost by 35 points on their only visit to Bordeaux a couple of seasons ago.
