Waratahs vs Brumbies Predictions

The Waratahs must win to close the points gap on the teams above them to keep their hopes of reaching the play-offs alive. The Brumbies must also secure a victory in the race for the play-offs, but they have had little success against their hosts in recent matchups.

  • Waratahs have won 3 of their last 4 matches against the Brumbies.
  • Waratahs defeated the Brumbies by 2 points earlier this season.
  • Brumbies have lost 3 of their last 4 away fixtures.

Head to Head

The Brumbies have a commanding lead of 22 victories to 11 against the Waratahs in 33 meetings.

The Waratahs beat the Brumbies 30-28 away from home earlier this season.

Waratahs Form

The Waratahs defeated Fijian Drua 50-35 away from home last weekend after a dominant first-half display, leading 36-7 at the break.

The team from New South Wales has had mixed fortunes at home this season. They defeated the Reds 36-12, the Fijian Drua 36-13, lost 59-19 to the Hurricanes, 35-20 to the Blues, and beat Moana Pasifika 29-14 before losing 20-17 to the Western Force.

The Waratahs are 7th in the Super Rugby standings with 26 points from 12 games.

The Tahs gave their play-off chances a boost after their latest victory and must win again to close the gap on the Reds and the Brumbies in the race for the top six places.

Brumbies Form

The Brumbies secured vital play-off points when they hosted the Western Force recently, winning 32-15 at home after leading their opponents 14-10 at half-time.

The team from Canberra has been inconsistent away from home this season. They defeated the Western Force 56-24, and the Crusaders 50-24, lost 42-27 to the Fijian Drua, and then beat the Highlanders 14-10 before losing 45-12 to the Hurricanes and 30-21 to the Reds.

The Brumbies are 5th in the Super Rugby table with 29 points from 12 matches.

The ACT Brumbies must win to keep on track to make the play-offs, as they are only two points ahead of the Waratahs and one ahead of the Reds. However, they have not been at their best in recent outings, losing three of their last four fixtures, and they have lost three of their last four encounters with the Waratahs.
