Angola vs Malawi Predictions

Angola drew their opening Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match and are on a lengthy unbeaten run at home. Malawi had a positive start to their qualifiers but have had little success against Angola over the years. Angola are predicted to win to nil.

  • Angola have won 2 of their last 5 home fixtures.
  • Angola have scored 9 goals in 5 home games.
  • Angola have conceded 3 goals in 5 home matches.
  • Malawi have lost 3 of their last 5 away fixtures.
  • Malawi have scored 2 goals in 5 away matches.
  • Malawi have conceded 3 goals in 5 away games.

Head to Head

Angola have the advantage over Malawi, with four victories to one, including three draws in eight meetings.

Angola Form

Angola came away with a point in their opening Group B AFCON qualifier in September, drawing 0-0 with Egypt away from home.

The Palancas Negras had 34% possession and ten shots in the game, with two attempts on target.

Before that, Angola played two friendly internationals in June, drawing 1-1 with Mauritania before cruising to an easy 3-0 win over the Central African Republic.

The Palancas Negras have secured one victory in their last five fixtures, with four draws. They scored five goals and conceded two.

The Southern African team have won two of their last five home matches, with three draws. They scored nine goals and conceded three.

Angola will be happy to have not lost their first Group B qualifier and will start confidently against Malawi, as they are undefeated on home soil, with three victories and three draws in six games.

Malawi Form

Malawi started their Africa Cup of Nations Group B qualifying campaign with a 2-1 home victory over South Sudan in September.

The Flames had 67% possession and have five shots in the match, with two attempts on target.

In June, Malawi contested two international friendlies against Ethiopia, losing 1-0 in the opening match before drawing 1-1.

Malawi have secured one victory in their last five matches, with three defeats and one draw. They scored three goals and conceded four.

The Flames have won one of their last five away games, with three defeats and one draw. They scored two goals and conceded three.

Malawi have a tough second AFCON qualifier away to Angola to contend with, and they have only recorded one win in their last seven fixtures on the road, and they do not have a great record against their hosts.
