After a fine 0-0 draw at Mamelodi Sundowns, they lost 2-1 at Rangers in a league match. Successive 1-1 CAF Champions League draws followed at home, versus Raja Casablanca and FAR Rabat.

Following a 3-2 home league win over Kuya Sort, they lost 2-0 in Morocco last weekend to FAR Rabat. That loss left them bottom of Group B.

Coach Papy Kimoto could again be without forward Émeraude Mola Otinga. He was injured in late November and remains a question mark.

After a cup final defeat and two CAF Champions League draws, a new coach was appointed. Sundowns responded by beating Raja Casablanca 1-0 at home and then winning 1-0 at Stellenbosch.

A 1-0 win followed at AmaZulu with ten men thanks to a last-minute goal. After winning 2-0 at Richards Bay, they lost 1-0 away to Raja Casablanca as they finished with nine men.

Right back Khuliso Mudau and defensive midfielder Bathusi Aubaas were red-carded last weekend. Both will serve suspensions in this match.

Central midfielder Rivaldo Coetzee is out injured and so is key playmaker Themba Zwane.
