Head to Head

Brazil have a commanding lead over Japan, with 14 victories to one, including two draws in 14 meetings.

Brazil Form

Brazil defeated Scotland in their group match last week, winning by three goals to nil to finish as leaders of Group C.

The Canarinha had 54% possession and 21 shots in the game, with eight attempts on target.

Brazil dropped points at the start of their FIFA World Cup campaign, drawing 1-1 with Morocco before easing to a 3-0 victory over Haiti.

The Selecao have registered four victories in their last five fixtures, with one draw. They scored 15 goals and conceded four.

Five-time World Cup winners Brazil have found some form over their previous two group games, scoring with ease, and they have won five of their last six matches, including one draw.

Japan Form

Japan secured their place in the round of 32 at the 2026 FIFA World Cup after settling for a share of the spoils in their final Group F game against Sweden last weekend, drawing 1-1.

The Samurai Blue had 51% possession and eight shots in the match, with three attempts on target.

Earlier in the tournament, Japan drew 2-2 with the Netherlands in their opening match before thrashing Tunisia 4-0.

The Samurai Blue have won three of their last five fixtures, with two defeats. They scored nine goals and conceded three.

Japan have enjoyed a solid campaign in this edition of the World Cup and defeated Brazil in a friendly international last year; however, they historically have a poor record against their opponents, with 11 defeats in 14 matches.
