Comoros dropped crucial points against Mali in their FIFA World Cup qualifier midweek, losing 3-0 away from home.

The Comoros conceded after 28 minutes of play, handing Mali the advantage in the first half.

Comoros conceded for a second time from a spot-kick in the 70th minute of the match and for a third time six minutes later. 

Comoros occupy 4th place in Group I with 12 points from seven matches. They have won four and lost three. 

The Coelacanths have lost four of their last five fixtures, including one win. They scored three goals and conceded 12.

Comoros must win to keep their hopes of making the finals alive; however, they have been struggling with their form lately, often losing, although they did beat the Central African Republic 4-2 in a 2023 World Cup qualifier.
