Mamelodi Sundowns beat Siwelele 7-4 at home on Saturday. Below are the player ratings for the Sundowns starting XI and subs.
STARTING XI:
Ronwen Williams: 6
The goalkeeper was beaten four times. He was not at his dominant best in this match.
Khuliso Mudau: 7
The right back bombed forward regularly and caused plenty of danger. He was his usual solid self defensively.
Grant Kekana: 6
The centre back struggled at times with the high defensive line. He made a couple of strong saving challenges, though.
Khulumani Ndamane: 4
The left-footed centre back had his toughest game in a Sundowns shirt. A couple of the goals were his mistakes and he struggled with having to defend so many counter attacks.
Aubrey Modiba: 5
The left back delivered some delicious crosses. However, he was run ragged at times defensively.
Marcelo Allende: 5
The midfielder offered little protection to his defence and was not particularly effective with his passing.
Teboho Mokoena: 8
The midfielder rifled in the first goal and was very lively and aggressive. He was surprisingly taken off after 68 minutes and Sundowns immediately looked less effective.
Kutlwano Letlhaku: 8
The winger made his first start since January and was very effective. He made space for others, and never gave Siwelele a rest.
Nuno Santos: 8
The playmaker created five chances and brilliantly assisted a goal for Brayan Leon. He looked back to his best in this one.
Tashreeq Matthews: 9
The winger scored two goals, including a fine header. He was very dangerous with his dribbling and interplay with teammates and must surely be in the thinking for a place at the FIFA World Cup in June.
Brayan Leon: 9 - Man of the Match
The striker scored a hattrick and even missed two other big chances. His movement was different class at times.
SUBSTITUTES:
Arthur Sales: 6
The number ten returned from a shoulder injury. He looked very rusty and off the pace.
Tsiki Ntsabaleng: 6
The playmaker came on to bring fresh legs and attacking impetus. It did not materialise sadly.
Sphelele Mhkulise: 6
The midfielder was steady, but he proved a downgrade from the influence of Mokoena.
Iqraam Rayners: 6
The striker came on and hoped to add to the scoring. He struggled to have much real impact on the game though.
Divine Lunga: 6
The Zimbabwean had 15 minutes in place of Modiba and solidified the leaky left side.
