Head-to-Head

Guyana Amazon Warriors beat the Unicorns by three wickets with three balls to spare in their only previous meeting with the San Francisco outfit, which was eight days ago in their group stage clash.

Guyana Amazon Warriors Form

Guyana Amazon Warriors finished top of the league-stage standings and now enter the final looking to complete a strong Global Super League 2026 campaign.

Rahmanullah Gurbaz has been their standout batter with 197 runs, while Mohammad Nabi has led the attack with seven wickets.

The Warriors, however, come into the final after a 14-run defeat to Perth Scorchers. Perth batted first and struggled badly, slipping to 78/8 in the 13th over before Brody Couch rescued the innings with a vital 43 off 30 balls. His effort lifted the Scorchers to 135 all out.

Guyana then lost two early wickets in the chase before Gurbaz and Shimron Hetmyer revived the innings. Gurbaz struck a rapid 42 off just 16 balls, hitting two fours and five sixes, while Hetmyer made 31 from 28 deliveries.

Once that partnership was broken, the chase fell apart. Ashton Turner took three wickets and Sufyan Moqim claimed two as Guyana were bowled out for 121. Despite that setback, the Warriors’ strong league-stage form means they remain a major threat in the final.

San Francisco Unicorns Form

San Francisco Unicorns booked their place in the Global Super League 2026 final with a convincing eight-wicket win over Desert Vipers in the Eliminator. They will now face a powerful Guyana Amazon Warriors side for the title.

Tim Robinson has been their leading run-scorer in the tournament with 197 runs, while Callum Stow heads their bowling charts with six wickets.

The Unicorns’ bowlers set up their Eliminator win by restricting Desert Vipers to just 122/7. Zachary Carter, Andries Gous and Rilee Rossouw all fell cheaply, while Bevon Jacobs struggled to build momentum. Vriitya Aravind offered some resistance with 29, helping the Vipers crawl past 120, but the total always looked below par.

San Francisco lost Connor Esterhuizen and Hassan Khan early in the chase, but Robinson and Ollie Peake quickly settled the contest. Robinson made an unbeaten 68 off 54 balls, while Peake added 33 not out from 31 deliveries as the Unicorns reached the target in the 17th over.

Team news

The powerhouse Guyana side are backed to bounce back from their batting collapse against the Scorchers in their last group game to outclass the Unicorns to retain their Global Super League crown.

The Providence Stadium surface has slowed as the tournament has progressed, bringing spinners more into play. While the average first-innings score is 154, recent matches have dipped to around 134. A total near 165 should be competitive, with chasing likely preferred.

Guyana Amazon Warriors (possible XI): Guyana Amazon Warriors: Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Quentin Sampson, Mohammad Haris, Shimron Hetmyer, Rovman Powell, Mohammad Nabi, Gudakesh Motie, Romario Shepherd, Dwaine Pretorius, Matthew Forde, Imran Tahir.

Verdict

The Guyana Amazon Warriors are backed for a successful defence of their title with runs coming from Rahmanullah Gurbaz while Gudakesh Motie looks good to be his side’s best batters. Tim Robinson and y3 are backed to star with bat and ball for the Unicorns in what looks set to be a tight clash.
