Pretoria Capitals vs Joburg Super Kings Predictions

The Capitals’ disaster season in 2024/25 saw them win just two of their 10 games in the group stages. They did some of the best business in the SA20 auction and their new recruits are likely to give them the push they need to finish high in the table this season.

Pretoria Capitals’ Dewald Brevis has scored 37, 54, 29, 22 & 31 in his last 7 innings.
Pretoria Capitals’ Shai Hope has scored 109*, 56 ,140 & 47 in his last 8 innings.
Joburg Super Kings’ Faf du Plessis has scored 26, 53*, 50 & 36 in his last 10 innings.
Joburg Super Kings’ Matthew De Villiers has scored 50 & 96* in his last 4 innings.

Head-to-Head

The Capitals have won two and lost one of their last five SA20 matches against the Super Kings. Two of their last three matches were rained-out, and their last meeting saw the Capitals win by six wickets.

Pretoria Capitals Form

The Capitals finished second from the bottom of the table last season, winning two, losing six and with two no-results. They are a very powerful squad this season following a successful auction.

The Capitals have strengthened themselves incredibly this season, bringing in quality internationals in the shape of Andre Russell, Will Jacks, Sherfane Rutherford, Dewald Brevis, Lungi Ngidi and Keshav Maharaj.

Their big problem will be getting game time for all their star quality players, as well as offering opportunities for the likes of Saqib Mahmood, Craig Overton, Conor Esterhuizen, Bryce Parsons, Lizaad Williams and Will Smeed. If they fire they should be unbeatable.

Joburg Super Kings Form

The Super Kings scraped into the playoffs last season, only to lose to the Sunrisers in the Eliminator by 32 runs.

The Super Kings have retained talisman Faf du Plessis and have brought in some big hitters in the shape of Donovan Ferreira and Rilee Rossouw. Prenalen Subrayen and Wiaan Mulder add power as all-rounders, and they have some quality new bowlers in the shape of left-arm paceman Nandre Burger as well as T20 legend Imran Tahir.

West Indian internationals Brandon King (top-order batter) and Akeal Hosein (with slow left-arm orthodox spinner) will add experience to the squad, but none of the Super Kings squad is in great form at the moment, so it’s hard to have confidence in their chances for the season.
