The Capitals’ disaster season in 2024/25 saw them win just two of their 10 games in the group stages. They did some of the best business in the SA20 auction and their new recruits are likely to give them the push they need to finish high in the table this season.

The Super Kings scraped into the playoffs last season, only to lose to the Sunrisers in the Eliminator by 32 runs.

The Super Kings have retained talisman Faf du Plessis and have brought in some big hitters in the shape of Donovan Ferreira and Rilee Rossouw. Prenalen Subrayen and Wiaan Mulder add power as all-rounders, and they have some quality new bowlers in the shape of left-arm paceman Nandre Burger as well as T20 legend Imran Tahir.

West Indian internationals Brandon King (top-order batter) and Akeal Hosein (with slow left-arm orthodox spinner) will add experience to the squad, but none of the Super Kings squad is in great form at the moment, so it’s hard to have confidence in their chances for the season.
