It’s all but guaranteed that South Africa will hammer this inexperienced Tanzania side. If South Africa bat first then Jason Rowles is my pick for South Africa’s top scorer, but if Tanzania bat first they are likely to be rolled for under 100, in which case Rowles is unlikely to get to the wicket.

Jason Rowles has been in Bradmanesque form with the bat, scoring 98-plus in three of his last five innings. Although a win against Tanzania is all but a foregone conclusion, one concern they will have is the lack of runs from the rest of their top-order.

Bayanda Majola (3/59, econ 5.90) and Corne Botha (3/45, econ 4.50) picked up the wickets of four of Afghanistan’s top five batters. JJ Basson (1/44, econ 4.88) also delivered a tight spell of bowling.

Tanzania fought back superbly after the West Indies raced to 100/1 in the 17th over. Augustino Mwamele (2/17, 5.66) and Raymond Francis (2/23, econ 4.60) engineered a mini collapse to boost their side’s confidence by limiting the damage to a five-wicket defeat.
